This recipe of Fish Curry is prepared exactly the way it is prepared traditionally in Andhra Pradesh. Traditionally it is cooked in tamarind sauce, so it is very tangy and also very tasty too. It goes very well with plain rice. Also, this recipe is very good for all ages.

- 4 big garlic pods
- 2 tsp coriander powder
- 2 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 5 inch coconut piece or 3 tsp coconut powder
- 250 grams fish (washed and cut into bite size pieces)
- 5 tsp oil
- Few curry leaves
- 1/2 onion chopped
- 1 lemon size tamarind (soaked in hot water)
Take a mixer jar and add garlic pods, coriander powder, chili powder, cumin powder, salt, chopped coconut and grind them to a fine powder.
Take the fish pieces in a bowl and mix them with all the grinded masala and keep it aside for 30 mins.
Heat oil in a non-stick pan and add curry leaves and chopped onions. Fry them until the onions becomes soft.
Now add all the fish pieces in to it and fry them for 5 mins both sides.
Finally add tamarind pulp with sufficient water and mix well very carefully and cover the lid. Cook them for 25 mins at medium heat.
When the oil starts seperating, switch off the flame and serve with plain rice.
You can serve fish curry with plain rice.
